WHEN YOU MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL
a poem by Max Reif
When you make something beautiful,
you’re uncovering the Beauty within you.
When you make something beautiful,
you feel helpless at times.
When you make something beautiful,
you reach beyond yourself,
balancing somehow on an invisible ladder.
When you make something beautiful,
you continue in spite of concerns
about marring the perfection.
When you make something beautiful,
it is a part of the Infinite Beauty
When you make something beautiful,
it already exists as Beauty itself.
When you make something beautiful,
you engage in the greatest adventure!
When you make something beautiful,
you please the Beloved.
When you make something beautiful,
you lose yourself and find—BEAUTY!
When you make something beautiful,
you become mute in the face of a miracle.
When you make something beautiful,
You somehow take leave of your limitations.
When you make something beautiful,
God works with you as you are,
crafting those limitations into
a tapestry of the Infinite Beauty.
When you make something beautiful,
The distinction is lost,
“who is doing this?”
BEING is doing it!
